If they figure out that you don’t want to be an agent (especially during COVID) they will fire you. You learn a lot of great administrative skills and develop a tougher skin so companies will hire you, but there isn't much room to move up unless you want to dedicate 6 or 7 years there to be on the path of being an agent. They say they are "weeding out" people who are not strong/smart enough to be in entertainment, but in reality most people that work there make it toxic for other people because it was hellish for them as well. While I was there I saw HR try to encourage people to snitch on on another. They literally have a room by HR that is meant for breastfeeding but people use it to cry/decompress. The NY office has theater, Literature, Comedy, Sports, Commercial, Unscripted TV and a few production/scripted TV desks. Good first step if you can stomach it Working at an agency is a good first step in a career in Entertainment.
